Today is National Heatstroke Prevention Day

What a day, no child died today because of being left in a hot car. Children can sometimes climb into a hot car on their own. The parents lose track of time, can't find the kids, and then trouble. Yes, children have died this way also. That is why parents and caregivers should keep the car locked at all times. If you don't have kids, but you have young children coming over your house, here is some good advice: Lock your car. But, do it BEFORE they kids come over.

Cars heat up real fast. A car can get as hot as 110 degrees after only ten minutes, when the outside temperature is only 80 degrees! A child can die when the car temperature reaches about 107 degrees. Point: remember to always check the back seat, then check again. Check every time you get in or out of a car. Keep my hanger in your window. Don't have one? I'll mail you one for free. Then, just keep it on your rear view mirror when you have kids in the back. But, only put it up when you have kids in the back. You don't want to get used to seeing the sign and then ignoring it. No deaths today- that's a good day. Good night.
