Father leaves his baby in the cold!

It is quite shocking when children are left in the back seats of cars. As we know, some die from heat stroke. However, on Christmas Day in Los Angeles, a dad "forgot" about his baby that he left outside his house. The dad had been drinking, but the baby was crying loudly. The temperature was below 50 degrees.

Dad, who was sleeping comfortably inside his home, was arrested that night. The baby was put in the custody of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services acording to Reuters news service.

What do you think thte penalty should be for leaving a child abandoned? In this case, the dad could get up to two years in jail and $2,000 in fines. Is that enough?
